So, throw me out some music you want to hear -- but please, only if it's from this century. We already know what you want to hear from last century.
I have been going on about SPF1000 to everyone I know.

These are all good. We'll probably be playing a wide range of music, there's so damn much to choose from with our parameters.

Re: Music requests?
Tue, January 27, 2004 - 1:54 PMThere's a great deal of goth and industrial /dance/ music -- as in, music one can actually /dance/ to (rather than 'digging for reznor'/clawing at the sky woe woe is me) out there right now that you guys would be pretty silly to pass up. Goth clubs come and go - usually they die pretty quickly unless they become the focal point for a particular social clique.
I'll spare you specific suggestions. Everyone has their pet band/producer. However: /for god sakes/ hire a couple real DJs. There are some -amazing- industrial DJs lurking around in the bay area -- some fool with an MP3 collection or a couple of CD decks doesn't cut it. The fade out and segue went out when disco came in. Find some of the local producers who are making headway into craziness like 'industrial house' (Yeah, I know - weird! But /different/! /new/!) and get them playtime! Don't let 'Nocturne' turn into another flop of a goth club. :b
Also: Good luck and best wishes. :) -

Re: Music requests?
Fri, January 30, 2004 - 1:42 PMAll I ask is that it doesn't turn into another goth night that plays a few interesting songs early on and then quickly switches to all EBM and after that hours and hours of music that sounds like one long techno song without end.
But, maybe that's just me.
I enjoy a mix of music, so that if I don't like something, I don't have to suffer through it for what seems like an eternity. -

Re: Music requests?
Fri, January 30, 2004 - 6:17 PMI doubt that it'll be like that -- I am mixing up the DJ's and we really won't have an offical "house" DJ like most clubs. I have tentatives from DJ Joe Radio and Rick A Mortis for the 24th. Which makes me happy! I'll try to confirm the next few dates this week and post them here. -

Sat, February 14, 2004 - 7:48 AMDon't worry folks... Rachel is seeking help for her special very own form of violent mood swings.
Not if she really ment the killing she would have shown up on Darrens' door step last week.
YIKES
I have a few club suggestion but then why give away all ones secrets.
Hee heee just make it as spooky as the budget allows

Re: Music requests?
Sat, February 14, 2004 - 9:38 PMMy vote may not be too popular, but I'm going to suggest i, parasite. They're a great industrial-ish goth-ish band from N.Y. Technically it isn't even a band, per se, since really it is one guy who puts the entire thing together. At any rate, I haven't heard the latest album he put out, but I highly recommend Horseslayer. I know it would make my night if I went to a club and I actually heard them playing i, parasite. But that's just me. I don't remember the site address off hand, but you can look them up online and find some MP3s if you want to check them out. Mmmyup. -

Re: Music requests?
Tue, April 20, 2004 - 10:09 PMIf people would wash and dye their hair, and actually make an effort to dress up and put on some decent MAC makeup, who cares about what you play? Atmosphere is more than just the music. I volunteer to be the fashion dominatrix at the door. "You naughty boy,,,,your eyeliner is smeared...*SMACK*"

Re: Music requests?
Mon, February 16, 2004 - 12:45 PMI would really like to hear "Milli Vanilli - Baby, Don't forget my number". Failing that, how about "Tiffany - I think we're alone now".
In the extremely unlikely event that you don't have either of the aforementioned top goth tunes, I would like to hear "Christian Death - Romeos Distress".
But you please play the Calypso remix? Cause I'm in the caribbean, and would really like to hear some caribbean influenced goth music. -

Re: Music requests?
Mon, February 16, 2004 - 1:44 PMMilli Vanilli is so fake, as opposed to REAL musicians, say, like VNV Nation. -

Tue, March 9, 2004 - 4:29 PMThat was Fernando, and it WAS at the end of the night on the first night(when we really weren't supposed to still be partying). I think Fred just wanted to show off his Axel Rose imitation.

Re: Music requests?
Mon, April 19, 2004 - 10:22 AMI'm still new to the city, so my voice may not matter in the decision of what really gets played although, some Zeromancer, Velvet Acid Christ, and some VNV Nation would be dreadfully nice.
